Speaker 2:

If someone's offering is a fellowship offering and he offers an animal from the herd, whether male or female, he is to present before the Lord an animal without defect. He is to lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance to the tent of meeting. Then Aaron's sons, the priests, shall sprinkle the blood against the alternate sides From the fellowship offering. He is to bring a sacrifice made to the Lord by fire or the fat that covers the inner parts or is connected to them, both kidneys with the fat around them near the loins, and the covering of the liver, which he will remove with the kidneys. Then Aaron's sons are to burn it on the altar on top of the burnt offering that is on the burning wood, as an offering made by fire and aroma pleasing to the Lord. If he offers an animal from the flock as a fellowship offering to the Lord, he is to offer a male or female without defect. If he offers a lamb, he is to present it before the Lord. He is to lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it in front of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron's sons shall sprinkle its blood against the altar on all sides From the fellowship offering. He is to bring a sacrifice made to the Lord by fire. It's fat, the entire fat tail, cut off close to the backbone, or the fat that covers the inner parts or is connected to them. Both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the covering of the liver, which he will remove with the kidneys. The priest shall burn them on the altar as food, an offering made to the Lord by fire.

Speaker 2:

If his offering is a goat, he is to present it before the Lord. He is to lay his hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron's sons shall sprinkle its blood against the altar. On all sides From what he offers. He is to make this offering to the Lord by fire. Or the fat that covers the inner parts or is connected to them. Both kidneys with the fat on them, near the loins, and the covering of the liver, which he will remove with the kidneys. The priest shall burn them on the altar as food, an offering made by fire, a pleasing aroma, or the fat is the Lord. This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. Wherever you live, you must not eat any fat or any blood.

Speaker 1:

Alright now.

Speaker 1:

The last time we were together we looked at the grain offering. Today we will be looking at the peace last, fellowship offering. Now, the reason I said peace or fellowship is because of the word used for peace offering, shaleem or shalamim. Now, to the best of my knowledge, the words peace and fellowship are interchangeable, which is why scholars have had a hard time deciding which word to choose. Now on to the chapter. Everything the Lord asks has to be done, and done in order and to his specifications. Now I have divided this chapter into three parts. Part one there was an offering from the kettle. We see this in verses one through five. Now, if offering Now, excuse me now if his offering is a sacrifice of peace offering, if he is going to offer out of the herd, rather male or female, he shall offer it without defect before the Lord and he shall lay his hand on the head of the offering and slay it at the doorway of the tent of meeting and Aaron's sons. The priest shall sprinkle the blood around on the altar and from the sacrifice of the peace offering, he shall present an offering by fire to the Lord the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails and the two kidneys, with the fat that is on them, which is on the loins and the lobe of the liver, which he shall remove with the kidneys. Then Aaron's sons shall offer it up in smoke On the altar, on the burnt offering which is on the wood that is on the fire. It is an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the Lord.

Speaker 1:

As always, we see that this offer of the cattle has to be very specific and Aaron and his sons were to follow these directions. Specifically, there was no freestyling Part 2, there was an offering from the sheep. We see this in verses 6-11. But if his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering to the Lord is from the flock, he shall offer it, male or female, without defect. If he is going to offer a lamb for his offering, then he shall offer it before the Lord and he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering and slay it before the tent of meeting and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle his blood around on the altar. And from the sacrifice of peace offering he shall bring as an offering by fire to the Lord its fat, the entire fat tail, which he shall remove close to the backbone, and the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, the two kidneys with the fat that is in them which is on the loins, and the lower the liver, which he shall remove with the kidneys. Then the preacher offer it up in smoke on the altar as food, an offering by fire to the Lord. Once again, excuse me, once again, we see that this offering has to be very specific Excuse me, that's nothing in my throat. This offering has to be very specific and in the end we see what was to be done with and the preacher offer it up in smoke on the altar as food, an offering by fire to the Lord. Now, we know sometimes it is offering as an offering of food and sometimes it is an offering to be burned up.

Speaker 1:

Now there is a third part to this chapter and that is the offering from goats, and we see this from 12 through 17. Moreover, if his offering is a goat, then he shall offer it before the Lord and he shall lay his hands on the head and slid before the tent of meeting. Notice, with all three of these offerings, they were done before the tent of meeting and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle his blood around on the altar and from it he shall present his offering as an offering by fire to the Lord the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails, and the two kidneys, with the fat that is on them, which is on the loins and the lobe of the liver, which he shall remove with the kidneys, and the preacher offer them up in smoke on the altar as food, an offering by fire for a soothing aroma. All fat is the Lord's. It is a perpetual statue. Throughout your generations, in all your dwellings, you shall not eat any fat or any blood. Once again we see, the Lord gives Aaron and his sons specific directions, specific specifications for the law of peace, offering Guess what people. That brings us to the end of Leviticus 17.

Speaker 1:

As I mentioned before, as long as you're reading God's word in its complete context, these scriptures are not hard to understand. That's why we go through the Bible in chronological order and we go through each chapter word for word. So we should get through this book of Leviticus relatively quick, because it is pretty much following everything into this context. But of course, when it calls for us to dig deeper into something, we will absolutely do that. That's all for now. Remember what we said at the beginning of the podcast wherever you may find this, give it a like, give it a comment and share so we can keep talking. The Word of God. That's all for now, god bless.
