Iron Sharpens Iron #13: Did He Really Say That? The Controversial Sermons of Jamal Bryant
Welcome to Berean's Corner, the podcast where we go through books of the Bible chapter by chapter and verse by verse, wherever you are in the world. Thank you for joining. Grab a glass of water, a cup of coffee or tea and let's get into today's lesson. I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing in his kingdom, preach the word. Be ready in season and out of season. I hope everyone is doing well. I want to.
Speaker 1:I started out with that warning in second Timothy to remind us about these false teachers out here and, unfortunately, these four parishioner these poor parishioners, if you will who go for their nonsense. And the false teacher I'm talking about today is one, jamal Bryant. Now I don't need to play the video. I'm sure some of you have seen it and if you have it you can go find it, because I don't waste a lot of time on a man like this. But this man has done sermons in the last couple of weeks where he is talking about government issues, and you know what government issues I'm talking about. People do not come to the house of God, or what is supposed to be the house of God to hear that nonsense. They come to the house of God to hear the word of God. They come to hear the scriptures taught and broken down chapter by chapter, verse by verse, not to hear a man go on a rant about what he's feeling and how he's feeling. You know, it really saddened me to see that video and to see those men and women, those uh emasculated men in there with their hand in the air and and waving and jumping up and down and with all that nonsense of you know, going pastor you know that that'll preach right there and all that other nonsense. Instead there should have been men walking out of the church because that is not what they came there for. They didn't come there to hear a man talk about that. Uh, people who don't like him can pull up on him and all the name calling that he was doing to people.
Speaker 1:Real people of god would sit down and not deal with that foolishness and and I meant that the way I just said it if you are truly of the lord, you would not be in there dealing with that nonsense. You wouldn't find it okay, you would not be trying to defend it. You would be calling it for what it is. You would be calling it the house of satan, which is exactly what it is. I don't understand these, these men who stand in this, in these pulpits, with uh, with their uh gym shoes on and their designed not designer, but designed sweatshirts, you know, with characters on them. Whatever happened to the man of God that showed up with a suit on and a tie, or at least a shirt and a tie, to present himself in the Lord's house? Now, there's supposed to be reverence in the house of God. There's supposed to be a level of respect that this is a semblance of the Old Testament, the tabernacle of God. Now, to be honest, these, most of these churches here in North America, they are not, you know, like the old tabernacles. They are just brick and mortar buildings full of Satan's children, but they're supposed to be a representation of, back in Leviticus, what was happening when they were preparing the tabernacle, when they were putting the tents up and the presence of God was actually there. Instead, nowadays, we have these false teachers like Jamal Bryant and the nonsense that they are spewing.
Speaker 1:I want to look at a few scriptures. If you have your bible and if not, you can reference this down and check it out later. Go to Jeremiah 14 in verse 14. Speaking of false teachers, actually, let me back up to verse 13. But I, lord God. I said look, the prophets are telling them you will not see the sword, nor will you have famine, but I will give you lasting peace in this place. Then the Lord said to me the prophets are prophesying falsehood in my name. I have neither sent them, nor commanded them, nor spoken to them. They are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds. While you're in Jeremiah, turn to chapter 23,. Or you can jot down 23 and you can go back and check it out on your own time. Jeremiah 23 and look at verse 16.
Speaker 1:Thus says the Lord of hosts do not listen to the words of the prophets who are prophesying to you. They are leading you into futility. They speak a vision of their own imagination, not from the mouth of the Lord. Men like this, this is exactly what they're doing. They're not giving you the word of God. They are speaking things from their own mouth and from their own heart, and those of you who are in the Lord, you know it too.
Speaker 1:Now there could be some people in his church who heard the things that he was spewing, the nonsense that he was spewing, and you know they could have really took it to heart and said you know what? This is not what we're supposed to be here for, but unfortunately, a majority of the people in there were, you know, shouting and jumping up. And you know a quote unquote man of God is talking about, if you see me run up on me, which reminds me, these type of men, these type of false teachers, these wolves in sheep's clothing. They're not walking around in neighborhoods and right now I am particularly talking to my black people here in the United States. They are not walking through our neighborhoods on any type of business like that. He's not even leaving that church without his bodyguard. So how dare a coward like this say if you see me, you know, run up on me or pull up on me or whatever exactly it was he said, when he knows good and well, he's never going to come to your neighborhood and say those things he said on the pulpit and he's not going to do it without bodyguards. So you know, I don't understand why these men, you know, these emasculated men in the church, were getting excited about that, because they know that's exactly how that's going to go down.
Speaker 1:Speaking of false teachers, turn to matthew 7. Matthew 7 and uh, let's look at what christ says in verses 15 through 23. Beware of the false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves, which is exactly what this man is. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles are they. Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits.
Speaker 1:Not everyone who says to me, lord, lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my father, who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, right here this is one of the absolute saddest verses in scripture. Not everyone who says to me, lord, lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my father, who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, lord, lord, did we not prophesy in your name? And in your name, cast out demons and in your name, perform many miracles. And then I will declare to them I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness. A lot of people are going to hear that on that day. So, for the people who want to run and defend this, this coward, this false prophet, and say, oh, he's a man of God and he's doing this and that, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, remember, there's a lot of people who are going to say his name. They're going to say Jesus, they're going to say Yahshua, whatever language that they spoke on this earth. They're going to say his name and say didn't I do these things in your name? Wasn't I a pastor that was not there every Sunday teaching the people? Your word's gonna look at them and say I never knew you. You may, you may think that you knew me and you were doing my will, but you were never doing my will. So that's what you have in this type of situation.
Speaker 1:And also, to turn to mark 11, real quick turn to mark 11, because I also was thinking about uh, how people like him. How know, they robbed the people and their quote unquote church is nothing but a den of thieves. Turn to Mark 11. And when you get there, we are looking at verse 17. Mark 11, 17. And he began to teach and say to them that he is Jesus. Is it not written my house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations, but you have made it a robber's den. These prosperity teachers like this. That's exactly what they have done to the people. They have made God's house a robber's den. And if you want some Old Testament scripture to back that up, when jesus, uh, when jesus just said my house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations, you can see him talking about that in isaiah 56 and 7. And then when he said that, but you have made it a robber's den. Jeremiah talked about that in jeremiah, chapter 7, verse 11.
Speaker 1:Now, unfortunately, there are people we don't. We don't want to end up on the outside. You don't want to end up being a person who was on the outside looking in when the lord comes back to set this thing straight, because you follow false prophets like this. Okay, turn to revelation 22, and this is what I'm going to end on revelation 22, 15, and you'll see where I'm coming. You'll see where I'm coming from. This is jesus giving his final message. John is writing down the words of the lord, revelation 22, 15.
Speaker 1:Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices lying. Listen, you do not want to be one of these dogs who are outside. So what I hope and I pray is that you repent. If you're a member of this man's church, or if you're one of these people on social media reposting what he said like it's cool or it's for it's funny, or somehow he's on some type of business, you need to repent because you are following a false prophet. And if you are jamal bryant, we can hope that he does the same, that he repents, because I'm not his judge. I'm not your judge. What I do know is that I don't want to see anyone go down that wide path that leads to destruction. I don't want to see anyone thrown in to that eternal lake of fire that was made for Satan and his angels. I don't want to see anybody end up there. So if you don't want to end up one of the dogs who are outside that Christ was talking about you need to repent. You need to get away from that and find you a man who teaches the scriptures, who is serious about the scriptures and he is not on political nonsense.
Speaker 1:All right, people, I just I just had to get that out. I have seen this for about a week and I just couldn't take any more of it. You know, seeing videos of people reposting it like you know, people liking it and loving it. That is not what people of God are supposed to be doing and I am going to land my plane on that all right over on YouTube, where I'm going to put this video up like comment, subscribe and keep rolling with me as we go through the books of the bible.
